Fishing Trips

Dev-Ocean 7 can be chartered for groups of up to 10 people for a variety of fishing trips, for different species, depending on the time of the year and what you want to achieve.

Rod and equipment hire is available on board and if you are unfamiliar with how to use it help is at hand. Bait can also be ordered if arranged in advance with the skipper.

Tea/coffee is offered throughout the day.

Shark Fishing

Would like to target sharks on the ultimate fishing trip?
We can offer shark fishing between the months of July and August.

Dev-Ocean 7 has been successful in catching sharks due to the experience of the skipper. The largest shark caught on Dev-Ocean 7 was a blue shark weighing in at 253lbs caught by James Fellows in August 2016. This has been included in the notable fish list administered by the British Record Fish Comimittee.

Catch and release policy

When shark fishing, Dev-Ocean 7 operates a strict catch and release policy to preserve and protect the sport and these amazing creatures. You can weigh and photograph your catch but they must be returned to the sea as soon as possible.

Wreck and Reef Fishing (West Wales)

Dev-Ocean 7 operates from Milford Marina during July and August fishing wrecks and reefs.

Wreck and reef fishing off West Wales can produce a good selection of quality fish; Pollack, Bass, Cod, Ling, Conger, and Coalfish being the usual target species. However, other quality fish are regularly caught from around the wrecks and reefs such as Gurnard, Tope and Bullhuss.

Bristol Channel Fishing

Dev-Ocean 7 operates from Penarth Marina in the winter and spring months fishing the Bristol Channel.

In the winter months the target species are mainly cod and in the spring months smoothhound, bullhus, conger eels and various ray’s etc are commonly caught.
